Shelby and Cinjun's remake of a Sinn Sisamouth classic
while in Cambodia in 2009

For 8 months, from 2008-2009, Cinjun and his brother Shelby, also of Remy Zero,
traveled throughout Cambodia. They were not only inspired by the land and its
people, but also by  pre-Khmer Rouge era musical greats like Sinn SIsamouth and Ros Sereysothea.

Sadly, much of the musical progress of the Khmer people was halted by Pol Pot and his regime in the mid-late seventies and even in 2008 the musical voice of the Khmer people, and their traditional instruments were all but lost.

One man, Arn Chorn-Pond, has made it his purpose to restore culturally original music and appreciation to the Khmer people.
A survivor of the Khmer Rouge, his incredible story is told in the documentary  'The Flute Player' as well as the book "Never Fall Down" by Patricia McCormick.
Arn Chorn-Pond is asking for help to tour Cambodia to heal the Khmer people of their scarred past with music and revive the pride and  use of traditional Khmer musical instruments and performance.

The Khmer Magic Music Bus Project seeks funding to help Cambodian master musicians return traditional music performance and education to the people of rural Cambodia, one village at a time.

Cinjun will be playing an acoustic set this Friday, March 8th at 10pm at the Living Room.

One of Cinjun's favorite venues to play in NYC, The Living Room will be moving from their space on 154 Ludlow St. after 10 years of great music there.
Always an awesome atmosphere with amazing sound and incredible people, there is no doubt the new space will be just as great, if not better!
You can help be a part of the new Living Room by making a pledge at http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/livingroom.
